We are proud to collaborate with exciting community organizations dedicated to well-being on the South Side of Chicago.

The American Diabetes Association leads the fight against the deadly consequences of diabetes and fights for those affected by diabetes by:

  • Funding research to prevent, cure and manage diabetes
  • Delivering services to hundreds of communities
  • Providing objective and credible information
  • Giving voice to those denied their rights because of diabetes

The mission of the American Diabetes Association is to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.

Since 2004, Almighty Home Health Care, Inc. has as its mission the provision of quality care to individuals in their homes. In addition, we also aim to ensure the delivery of professional, safe, and cost effective healthcare services to our patients. We subscribe to a philosophy of high quality care which is to be rendered to individuals without regard to race, creed, religion, or sexual orientation. We are a community based home health agency, licensed and certified by Medicare, Medicaid and the Illinois Department of Public Health.

The AHA is an advocate of good health, promoting positive behaviors, nutritious eating habits and healthy lifestyles. It also funds cutting-edge research and professional education programs.ÿ The mission of theAmerican Heart Associationis to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.

The Chicago Park District owns more than 8,100 acres of green space, making it the largest municipal park manager in the nation.ÿ The Chicago Park District?s 580 parks offer thousands of sports and physical activities as well as cultural and environmental programs for youth, adults, and seniors.

  • Enhance the quality of life in Chicago by becoming the leading provider of recreation and leisure opportunities
  • Provide safe, inviting and beautifully maintained parks and facilities
  • Create a customer-focused and responsive park system

The Experimental Station is an independent, not-for-profit incubator of innovative cultural projects and small-scale enterprises. Its facilities provide essential resources enabling vulnerable initiatives to stabilize and flourish.ÿ The Experimental Station seeks to maintain a diverse and interdisciplinary balance of participants and activities and to generate events, lectures, and exhibitions which are free and open to the public. Areas of primary interest include, but are not limited to, art, ecology, cultural criticism, independent publishing and alternative models of education.

The Greater Chicago Food Depository, Chicago?s food bank, is a nonprofit food distribution and training center providing food for hungry people while striving to end hunger in the community. The Food Depository distributes donated and purchased food through a network of 650 pantries, soup kitchens and shelters to 678,000 adults and children in Cook County every year.ÿ The Depository also provides programs and services to children, older adults, and the unemployed and underemployed, that address the root causes of hunger.

The Jacinda Show is filled with inspiring, exciting and entertaining episodes that explore social issues and relate to real life. We interview ordinary people who often deal with extraordinary circumstances. Theÿshow is indeed a platform for voices and amazing stories that would otherwise go unheard. Our commitment to the community is one thatÿsteadily increases. We have a Community segment called,ÿ?Jacinda?sÿSomeone You Should Know.? During this segmentÿpeople from Chicago and surrounding areas are featured for their attributes and achievements. ÿOther segmentsÿsuch asÿ ?All about Health? and ?Health Matters?ÿ areÿaggressive, hands-on segments that include the expertise from a team of medical professionals. Jacinda understands the importance of health and how our lives are impacted every day. She makes sure that at each and every show that all audience members have an opportunity to receive a free on-site health screening in the area of their concern or medical advice.

The K.L.E.O. Community Family Life Center is a non-profit organization and facility dedicated to strengthening families and providing a safe haven, through education, training, support and fun for people of all ages in the Washington Park Community.

The National Kidney Foundation of Illinois (NKFI), a major voluntary health organization, seeks to prevent kidney and urinary tract diseases, improve the health and well-being of individuals and families affected by these diseases, and increase the availability of all organs for transplantation. The NKFI has provided services and programs for patients, families and communities within Illinois for more than 60 years and is an affiliate of the National Kidney Foundation. The National Kidney Foundation and its affiliates are leaders in the funding of medical research in the area of kidney diseases.

Save-A-Lot is one of the nation?s leading value, carefully selected assortment grocery chains, operating nearly 1,200 value-oriented stores in all types of neighborhoods ? urban, rural and suburban. Save-A-Lot?s mission is to make a positive difference in their customer?s lives by saving them money and time through their nationwide network of licensed and corporately-owned discount grocery stores.ÿ

The Washington Park Consortium is a community corporation working to grow a better quality of life in the Washington Park neighborhood on the near south side of Chicago. The Consortium focuses on fresh opportunities to find ongoing solutions rooted in the strengths of the community.

Willie B. Cochran is Alderman and Committeeman of the 20th Ward in Chicago, which includes areas of Englewood, Washington Park, Woodlawn and Back of the Yards neighborhoods.ÿ He has a comprehensive background in business, public service, and community organizing, and has made economic development his first priority for the area in which he serves.
